Surprise, AZ (June 5, 2019) The City of Surprise Community Development Department is proposing the adoption of the 2018 International Building Codes with local amendments. This would replace the previously adopted 2012 International Building Codes with local amendments.

- Ensure both the Building and Fire codes are in concert with each other
- Identify and clarify Fire Protection requirements for new construction and tenant improvements projects
The public can view and comment on the proposed amendments online at www.surpriseaz.gov/buildingsafety. Written comments can be sent to City of Surprise Community Development, c/o Brigham Bennett, 16000 N Civic Center Plaza Surprise, AZ 85374.
