Surprise, AZ (April 18, 2019) The city’s DevelopNEXT effort to simplify and modernize its development and design standards is advancing, with drafts of the first two chapters of the Land Development Ordinances (LDO) heading to the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission for discussion on April 18, following months of public and stakeholder review and comment. Based on feedback received from the public, stakeholders, and the Planning and Zoning Commission, staff will make revisions and publish an updated draft.
o The purpose of the LDO is to regulate things like: housing density, commercial uses, industrial uses, building types, setback & heights, connectivity, landscaping, lighting, open space and parking requirements.
Surprise, AZ (April 18, 2019) Surprise has streamlined the public records request process to make it easier for customers to track requests and have documents delivered electronically.
Beginning today, requests for public records will join the list of city-provided service requests that can be made in the My Surprise App; a smart device application that allows residents to report city-maintained service requests such as potholes and broken street lights, receive city news and public safety notifications from Surprise Police.
Surprise, AZ (April 19, 2019) Southwest Gas will soon begin work to upgrade a gas main on Litchfield Road, from Greenway Road to Waddell Road, with expected completion in August 2019.
