We Care is an automated system designed to call a senior or home-bound person once a day to check on their welfare. If the daily call is not answered, an automatic alert will be generated and personnel from the Surprise Police Department or Citizens Patrol will be sent to the home to check on the individual’s welfare.

Surprise, AZ (December 19, 2019) Work to improve several roadways in Surprise will require road closures through early 2020.

Surprise, A‌Z (December 18, 2019) Surprise offers four Christmas tree drop-off locations for residents’ convenience.

The lots will be open December 26, 2019 – January 9, 2020 at the following locations:


Bi-Centennial Park
16705 N. Nash St. (south end of the parking lot)

Surprise Recreation Campus / Youth Baseball Complex
15795 N. Parkview Pl.(across from Valley Vista High School)
Dick McComb Softball Park
17894 Westpark Blvd. (parking lot on corner of 180th Ave & Westpark Blvd.)

Asante Community Park

16763 W. Vereda Solana Dr. (parking lot at the north end of the park)

Please remove all decorations and place the trees in the designated areas only. There is a limit of two trees per household.

Surprise, A‌Z (December 17, 2019) City of Surprise administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, December 25, 2019 and Wednesday, January 1, 2020 due to Christmas and New Year’s.

Also due to the holiday, City of Surprise sanitation customers ONLY are reminded there will be a modified collection schedule those weeks that will postpone collection by one day:

Christmas week – Wednesday collection will be picked up Thursday. Thursday collection will be Friday.

New Year’s week – Wednesday collection will be picked up Thursday. Thursday collection will be Friday.
