Surprise, AZ (June 17, 2020) Vice Mayor Chris Judd, on behalf of Mayor Skip Hall, proclaimed June 14-20 as Monsoon Awareness Week in Surprise during last night’s Regular City Council Meeting and encouraged residents to be prepared for severe weather during the unpredictable season.

Monsoon, June 15-September 30, is a season characterized by increased thunderstorm and lightning activity, high winds, dust storms and flooding. 

While the severity of weather can vary from season to season, the city recommends that all residents to have a Monsoon safety plan and be ready for all possible occurrences.
