Initiative April 1, 2007
A local newspaper wrote an article about the City of Surprise, such as the one where the mileage recording petition was rejected.
What wasn’t said, was that this petitioner received an initiative number that was given by the city, which a reasonable minded person would assume, made it legal. Why would the City of Surprise give an indvidual an initiative number knowing they were not going to accept it?
Problems 4/15/07
With everyday that goes by it is apparent that the City of Surprise has major problems. These problems must be corrected before the City becomes completely dysfunctional.

Mail in ballot 4/19/07
On the city web-site it said that we would have to pay the postage when we mailed our ballot in, believing this was morally wrong, I called the Maricopa County Election Board.
The Election Board assured me that the city will pay for the postage, the ballot will have a return stamp on it.
The Maricopa County Election Board said they would call our City Clerk so they could correct their web–site.
