Mayor Lyn Truitt appointment
The composition of the Transportation PolicyCommittee (TPC), established by the RegionalCouncil on April 24, 2002, includes three
members selected from areas that need to be
represented to achieve geographic balance, with
the members selected from and by the under
represented geographic area and ratified by the
Regional Council. Interstate 17 is used as a
boundary in determining geographic balance.
The term of office of Mayor Joan Shafer of
Surprise, one of the geographic balance
members, ended in December 2007. To fill the
unexpired portion of the two-year term (June
2008), a letter of support for Mayor Lyn Truitt,
Surprise, has been received. Please refer to the
