SURPRISE, AZ( September 8, 2008 ) What day is your trash pickup? Who is your city council member? What’s your parcel number? How do you contact your water provider? Living in a growing, dynamic city can sometimes make your head spin, so the city of Surprise is introducing a new web service to give you access to a lot of information with a minimum of hassle.
Called “My Surprise Address,” this handy web site consists of a few boxes where you enter your Surprise address. What you get, according to City Manager Randy Oliver, is an instantaneous list of information related to that address. “You will get your school district, a link to your city council member, the name of your development and subdivision, who provides your water and sewer service, and so on,” Oliver says. “It is a maximum of information in a minimum of space and it is easy to get.”
“With Surprise projected to grow at a more than a 5% per year rate for the next five years, we will have tens of thousands of new residents who will want more and easier access to information,” says Assistant City Manager Kathy Rice. “This gives it to you, at your fingertips, 24/7.”
“You will also find links any homeowner might find useful, such as to the Arizona Public Service site,” says Communications Director Ken Lynch.
The site was launched by the city’s Communications Department in partnership with the Information Technology Department. Only addresses within the city of Surprise incorporated city limits will produce results.
