Rid hazardous waste
SURPRISE, AZ (Sept. 29, 2008) Looking to get rid of old paint cans, computers, motor oil, or even those CFL light bulbs in a safe manner? Surprise residents can drop them off at the Surprise Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, October 11.
Proof of residency is required- just bring your drivers license or a utility bill showing your name and home address.
From 8 a.m. to noon, drivers will be asked to enter the Public Works Maintenance Yard, 13433 W. Foxfire Road. From Bell Road, turn north on Dysart Road and follow the signs to the entrance off Foxfire.
All materials must be sealed in their original container, or clearly labeled and placed in a cardboard box. When dropping the items off, please stay in your vehicle and staff will remove the materials for you.
For a list of acceptable items, visit http://www.surpriseaz.com/hhwevent or call Public Works at 623.222.6000.
