Ex-Manager

City of Surprise’s ex city manager Jim Rumpeltes has aquired the job “Interium City Manager” with the City of Willcox, which is East of Tucson. I wish him the best and wonder if he might be thinking about moving down there.

SURPRISE, AZ (November 20, 2008) Get into the holiday spirit by constructing and decorating a gingerbread house for the 7th annual Surprise Party Gingerbread House Contest on December 6!

 

There are four categories this year; Adult, Youth, Family and Groups. Entry is free and prizes will be awarded to top three in each category. Prizes include ribbons and a $50 valued prize for first place, $25 for second and $15 for third.

 

Entry forms are due to the Community Services and Recreation office by Monday, December 1. Entrants must deliver their creations to the Surprise Party, at 8 Acres Park, 15850 N. Bullard Avenue, December 6, between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Surprise, AZ (November 20, 2008) Nothing reminds us more of the holidays than Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The Surprise Senior Center has tickets available for their December 10 bus trip to see the stage production of A Christmas Carol at the Broadway Palm Theatre.

 

Tickets are $58 for Surprise residents and $60 for non-residents, and include transportation, a full-course luncheon and matinee show.

Ariz. unemployment rate went up to 6.1%

 

Deflation is fear itself. A sub-stained deflation with a falling period of overall prices would be a disaster for our economy.
