Surprise offers HOA Academy this fall


) Registration is underway for the ninth Surprise HOA Academy. The six-week course, hosted by the Community Development Department, will begin on September 22.

Some of the topics covered during the six sessions include: role of HOAs, fundamentals of governing and managing HOAs, selecting vendors, budgeting, CC&R enforcement, code compliance, and legal aspects of HOAs.

 

 

Surprise accepting applications for CDBG Commission

 

The City of Surprise is accepting applications for the newly-created, five-member Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Commission.

 

Primarily the CDBG Commission will meet and consider recommendations regarding community development block grant funds, conduct request[s] for proposals process for the allocation of CDBG funds, and make recommendations regarding the annual and five-year consolidated plans.  The commission has the authority and duty to hear and review appeals of decisions of the administrative authority, regarding matters pertaining to the enforcement and application of CDBG funding, housing and human services programs, activities or services to benefit the community.
