Construction Problem

Construction failure in the new City Hall  Repairs completed at Surprise parking structure

I read the entire article, the problem was I did not understand exactly what was said, why would Surprise hire a third-party structural engineer from PK Associates to investigate the cause of the drop, at a cost of $2,500. The General Contractor D.L. Withers should of been called right away..Period

“(D.L.Withers) fixed the issue,” Oliver said. “We didn’t suffer damages, all’s taken care of. D.L.Withers did as any good contractor would do and addressed the issue.” It was a construction problem not an issue.

If it was a design failure, we could have more problems, it appears they doubled up from the plans on the connections that they installed, does not sound good, if this actually happened.

City held responsible

Repairs completed at Surprise parking structure

The article makes it appear that the city is responsible for repairs for shoddy work.

Why doesn’t the city have a couple of years of warranty on all construction projects, thought they learned from the construction of the stadium.
