Lyn Truitt

Surprise, Arizona

Help me understand I have lived here approximately 40 years and Youngtown to my knowledge has never taken an active part in the development of the Northwest Valley, as it was mainly a retirement community.

Under the leadership of Mayor Lyn Truitt who had served in MAG for two years, instead of supporting the City of Surprise for a leadership position in the development of the Northwest Valley transportation system played a large part in giving that position to Youngtown.

The question is: Why

Surprise, Arizona

In the Gulf of Mexico they have BP, in the City of Surprise we have Lyn Truitt.

Both of them are full of hot air and unbelievable, here’s what Lyn Truitt said in April 2008.

During the campaign, I consistently expressed my commitment in bringing stability to the Council and the Staff.

I also promised that the council would represent you and our city in a knowledgeable, polished and accountable manner.

I encourage everyone to tune into Surprise 11 or watch the council meetings live on the Internet. I am sure you will be proud of them as I am.

I thought that it would take about a year for others to notice our new leadership style, but we have already been propelled into a regional leadership role.

To believe this, I will have to tune into another station, tomorrow night.

Does Lyn Truitt consider himself a leader

As our citizens face difficult times, we in leadership have an opportunity to help our residents rediscover a sense

of neighbor-to-neighbor commitment. By getting creative in partnering with nonprofit community groups,

or promoting Community Pride Days and community gardens, we can lead by example and galvanize our

citizens to reach out to each other. In my city, we call it our “Compassionate Surprise” initiative. I believe that

by using this critical time to build an ethos of caring and support, we will create stronger, more livable com munities

in the future.

Right or wrong they are at least showing leadership, not passing the Buck.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Mayor Sam Adams fired the city’s police chief Wednesday, a day after the city agreed to pay $1.6 million to settle a lawsuit over the death of a mentally ill man in police custody.
Surprise, Arizona

It is my view by having elected Mike Woodard as our councilman in district 5, we have inherited someone more invisible then Joe Johnson and certainly not the leader everyone assumed he would be.

Another view of mine, Councilman Skip Hall is the only rational Councilman the City of Surprise unfortunately has on the City Council.
In my view, we who live in the City of Surprise must become active in our city or it will go to pot.

We must tell Mayor Lyn Truitt our concerns about how he is conducting the Council Meetings by going to the meetings, and exercising our right to speak.

We cannot let Lyn Truitt and his Council stop us from speaking like they did in the last meeting.
