Went this morning to Sun City Grand to hear what Councilman Richard Alton and Councilwoman Sharon Walcott had to say, it was a learning experience. If you didn’t know better you might believe what was said, like the council cannot take back the leadership role from the City Manager.
Many local governments have an established political culture with certain expectations and practices that often determine what is seen as acceptable in local politics.
I believe the American Public is less gullible today, it is harder to sell the Brooklyn Bridge today then it was before, that is why people are not attending these meetings.

| Surprise mayoral candidate Robert Vukanovich (right) answers a question about issues concerning the future of Surprise as Lyn Truitt (center) and Anthony Messina listen during a City of Surprise Election Forum at The Heritage Club of Marley Park in Surprise.
Regardless what is said of Mr. Vukanovich all of the candidates respect him for his idea’s and listen closely to what he say’s. Mr. Bob Vukanovich knows the problems of the City of Surprise and has the knowlege that is needed to fix them. He is running for Mayor of the City of Surprise because he wants to make the City accountablye to its citizens and become a steward of the people’s money. Candidate Robert Vukanovich and five other candidates answer questions during the Surprise mayoral debate hosted by the League of Women Voters of Northwest Maricopa County at Surprise City Hall.He is the only candidate who has the strength to handle the mess the City of Surprise is in, regarding the lack of leadership.
This is why the Arizona Republic fears him with the passion they have against him.
Disappointment
Surprise, ArizonaI can only speak for myself, but I am deeply disappointed in my Councilman Mike Woodard’s performance on the Council since being elected. His actions or inactivity since being elected was not what I expected from Mike.
Last Council Meeting
Mayor Lyn Truitt appeared to be well prepared and had the backing of Vice-Mayor Richard Alton before they stopped the supporters of Chief Hughe from speaking.
I would have thought that these jokers would have said, on the advice of our attorney _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
Wake-up Surprise
In my view, we who live in the City of Surprise must become active in our city or it will go to pot.
We must tell Mayor Lyn Truitt our concerns about how he is conducting the Council Meetings by going to the meetings, and exercising our right to speak.
We cannot let Lyn Truitt and his Council stop us from speaking like they did in the last meeting.
