SURPRISE, AZ (May 27, 2008) As the Extended Spring Training in Surprise nears the end, the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers will face off in the Surprise Stadium on June 4. First Pitch will be at 10:30a.m. This FREE game is open to the public.Although Spring Training ended in March, Extended Spring Training continues through early June. Extended Spring Training consists of minor league players as well as major league players who require rehabilitation. Each Extended Spring Training Team plays up to 40 games against other participating Cactus League organizations.

Extended Spring Training games at the Surprise Recreation Campus are played daily at the Kansas City or Texas Practice fields at 10:30a.m. on weekdays or 10a.m. on weekends. All Extended Spring Training Games at the Surprise Recreation Campus are free to the public.

Flag Football

Past and present NFL greats Chad Johnson, Otis Wilson, Eric Green, Darnell Dockett, Willis McGahee, Derek Hagan and many others will join Doug Flutie in Surprise for the Circle K 6th Annual Celebrity Flag Football Challenge, the official flag football event of the Super Bowl, February 2. SURPRISE, AZ (January 23, 2008) Past and present NFL greats Chad Johnson, Otis Wilson, Eric Green, Darnell Dockett and many others will join Doug Flutie in Surprise for the Circle K 6th Annual Celebrity Flag Football Challenge, the official flag football event of the Super Bowl, February 2. (players subject to change)The Circle K 6th Annual Celebrity Flag Football Challenge is the featured event of “Super Time Saturday in Surprise,” a day-long family sports and entertainment festival. The game will be rebroadcast as a 30 minute show for FSN-Arizona on February 9 at 4:30 p.m.
