Our Mayor Skip Hall of the City of Surprise has said that our council members physical presence is not required for their public and legal appearance and participation at city council meetings.
Surprise, AZ (March 2, 2022) The city of Surprise is hosting a public meeting regarding its draft Property Maintenance Ordinance (PMO) so residents can learn more, ask questions and provide feedback.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Surprise City Hall Community Room, 16000 N Civic Center Plz.

Surprise, AZ (February 23, 2022) The Surprise Human Service and Community Vitality Department is looking for volunteers for a couple Day of Service events on Saturday, March 19 and Saturday April 16, 2022. Volunteers will participate in various projects throughout the city including landscaping, painting, trimming of shrubs, debris removal and more.
Stay afterwards for a “wrap party” that includes a showcase of the City’s programs and services, including police and fire vehicle displays! We will also have entertainment from some of our Dysart Unified Schools and city-run specialty classes, as well as complimentary concessions, featuring desserts, soft pretzels and popcorn.

Surprise residents are permitted to drop off up to 2,000 pounds of non-hazardous residential waste free-of-charge at the Northwest Regional Landfill, 19401 W. Deer Valley Rd., from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a limit of one load per household.
For the safety and convenience of participants, Bullard Ave. will be closed between Paradise Ln. and Greenway Rd. from 4 p.m. through approximately 10 p.m.

This will be the first in a series of presentations to Council by the City’s Finance Department regarding the overall development of the budget and the upcoming annual process.

Senior Center activities and the in-person congregate meal program will not be available; however, members may attend the in-person meal program at Banner Olive Branch Senior Center during this time.

Surprise, AZ (February 22, 2022) Surprise Stadium has announced a time change to the series finale between Xavier and Oregon State on Saturday, February 26 at Surprise Stadium.
Originally scheduled for a 5 p.m. start, first pitch on Saturday has been moved to 1 p.m. MST.
Tickets purchased for the original game time are valid for the 1 p.m. start.
Major League Baseball and Major League Baseball Players Association have not yet been able to reach a new collective bargaining agreement. Due to the ongoing negotiations, MLB has notified all Clubs that it is no longer possible to play the first week of Spring Training games (February 26 – March 4) as originally scheduled.
Surprise Resource Center temporarily closed
The Surprise Resource Center will temporarily close for staff in-service the weekend of February 25.
