Surprise, A‌Z (May 31, 2019) The city of Surprise is breaking ground on an outdoor memorial in honor of late Surprise resident and combat wounded veteran Brian Mancini, who spent his life serving his country and helping other wounded veterans find healing.

The groundbreaking for the Veterans Reflection Circle will be held:

Monday, June 24 at 9 a.m.

Northwest Regional Library – Classroom

16089 N Bullard Ave. Surprise, AZ 85374

There will be an indoor ceremony, followed by an outdoor groundbreaking.

The memorial will be builtwithin the Surprise Community Park, next to the fishing lake, and will open on Veterans Day 2019. The site was selected as a tribute to Mancini’s love of nature, fishing and quiet self-reflection. These were important components to the non-medicinal healing philosophy he shared at his nonprofit Honor House – a place where wounded veterans could go for therapy and counseling.
